Light Up A Life

Think back to the days when you were a child, excited to get a new outfit for school. Remember the satisfaction of moving into the first place you called your own and setting up your new home. Recall the joyful anticipation you felt as you prepared the things you would need to welcome and care for a new baby.

For many underserved children, women and families in our community, opportunities like these would not exist without the support of the numerous programs sponsored by NCJW of Greater Kansas City. For 125 years, our grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates has worked to safeguard individual rights and freedoms by turning progressive ideas into action.

The annual LIGHT UP A LIFE campaign is NCJW of KC’s largest and final request of the year to bring in the funds we need to keep our important programs going.

We are asking you to be a shining light in the life of others through your donation.  Your gift can strengthen our impact in the community through these programs:

Baskets 4 Babies – $30 provides diapers, formula, and baby supplies for one new mother.

Stacy’s Closet – $50 provides a full set of clothing and a coat for one child at the request of a participating school.

Back to School Store – $80 provides clothing, a coat and school supplies for one elementary school child.

Birthday Book Program – $125 provides each participating school with books and treats for children celebrating a birthday.

Suitcase to Start – $250 provides kitchen and cleaning supplies, bedding, towels, toiletries, and storage for one youth aging out of foster care.

Scholarship Program – $500 to $2,000 per year for four years can be awarded to a graduating high school senior based on need and merit.
