Grandparents for Gun Safety Monthly Meeting

4:00 pm — 5:30 pm

Colonial Church in Prairie Village, Social Hall
7039 Mission Road

Because we understand the critical importance of the November 3 mid-term election and the August 4 primaries on both sides of the state line, we must get out EVERY vote. Since it’s not too soon to start, the May GGS meeting will feature speakers Erica Simon, Johnson County League of Women Voters, and Melanie Busse, Kansas City League of Women Voters.

They will share the voting laws in each state, provide the primary ballot filing deadlines, cover getting registered to vote, and share what you need to show to vote (voter registration, photo ID, anything else) and where to find information about voting locations.

While many of us know much of the information, we can contribute greatly to the Get Out The Vote efforts by sharing information with GGS members, supporters, friends, family and colleagues to inform and encourage everyone to vote in the primaries and in the important mid-terms.

This is the chance to elect qualified candidates at every level who support the GGS mission to promote common-ground gun laws that will increase the safety of the Kansas City metro area.

The momentum is on our side – let’s not waste it. Join us May 18 to learn how you can play a role.

Inspired by the East Against Gun Violence students’ panels, the Advocacy Action will be to make posters for National Gun Violence Awareness weekend.

NCJW is a member of GGS.
