Sign up for service events you can do from home

The social action committee of NCJW is delighted to provide the following programs to our members for December 2020 through April 2021. Please sign up on Sign-up Genius to participate.

The January through April programs run all month long, but the sign up will not allow that option. For Circle of Life, you will be contacted by the chair of the program for baking and delivery—and the other events are at your pleasure.

The following are descriptions of these wonderful and worthwhile programs we can do from home!

December 2020
We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Operation Breakthrough by donating toys for their birthday closet. We will be collecting in December and June. Sign up now for December.

They are most in need for ages 10-14 and then infants. They welcome books, crafts, puzzles, stuffed animals and open to anything. Gifts can be dropped off at the NCJW office (5311 W. 75th St. Prairie Village, Kansas 66208). Sign up >

January 2021
We are presenting a new program called the Circle of Life, which will begin in January 2021. Throughout the year, this program will honor simchas, life cycle events, and provide comfort for those suffering a loss by providing homemade challahs to our members.

In order for this new program to be successful, we need your help. We are looking for challah bakers and then people to deliver the challahs. The challah’s will be delivered on Friday afternoons. Please sign up on Sign Up Genius to either bake or deliver a challah. Sign up >

February 2021
February is going to be our food drive for JFS. To make their wishes come true, you can go directly to a link and buy through Amazon. It will be delivered to JFS.

If you would rather buy from a local store that works, too! They are requesting peanut butter and/or jelly. Please drop off at the J or Sharon Mallin’s house. Thank you for participating and keeping food in the pantries. Sign up >

March and April 2021
In March and April, we will be collecting gifts for The Birthday Party Project. The mission of TBPP is to bring joy to children experiencing homelessness through the magic of a birthday party.

They provide a “birthday in a bag” and birthday presents to children living in homeless and transitional living facilities. The organization’s updated wish list is here. More info regarding a “Birthday in a bag” to come. Sign up >
